Our Daughters of Isabella Council

Our History
The Daughters of Isabella is a female auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus. The first Daughters of Isabella circle was formed in New Haven, Connecticut in 1897 as a female counterpart to the Rev. John Russell Council of the Knights of Columbus. Its patroness namesake is Queen Isabella of Spain. A member must be a Catholic woman over the age of 16. The organization has about sixty thousand members . There are chapters in Canada and the United States.The organization's goal is charity and fraternity.

What We Do
Spiritual
Participation in retreats, masses, novenas, and other spiritual activities to develop a deeper relationship with God and others. Members also receive plenary indulgence and remembrances in masses and novenas throughout the country.
Friendship
Sharing of talents and experiences; support of one another in times of crisis and celebration
Fundraising
For support of churches, schools, scholarships, seminaries, missions, Right to Life, and other charitable causes. We have Bake Sales, Ham & Bean Dinner, Auction and Quilt Raffles. We give one-fourth of our proceeds to St. Mary's School.
Involvement
Respect for Life, women’s and family issues, civic and cultural projects. We sponsor a birthday party in January and Halloween party in October for the residents of the Golden Living Center. We also sponsor a Red Cross Blood Drive in November.
