Welcome to Home

Welcome to St. Mary Church in Glasgow, MO. Affectionately known as "Saint Mary's," this parish is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. She leads us to Jesus, her Son, as His first and greatest disciple, whom He made our spiritual Mother. We belong to the Diocese of Jefferson City, led by our Bishop, Shawn McKnight, in communion with our Holy Father, Pope Francis.

Being Catholic

Anyone who is interested in becoming Catholic is very welcome to join us for the celebration of Mass and other prayers. Children and adults who do not receive Holy communion may seek blessing from the Priest / Eucharistic Minister during Communion distribution. Public Mass Resume but Limited Services Until Labor Day

The most recent decree from Bishop McKnight seeks to continue up to Labor Day Weekend the measures that have been in place since March. This means that those who are subject to infection by the virus are continuing to be dispensed from attending Mass until September.  If you are staying at home you are requested to watch live-streamed Masses, prayerfully read and meditate on the readings for the Sunday Mass or Holy Day of Obligation, to recite the Rosary and/or the Divine Mercy Chaplet. If you wish to wear a mask, you are allowed to do so.  There will be a continuation of the current practices in our parish of no offertory procession, no collection by the ushers, no servers, readers or Extra-Ordinary Ministers of the Eucharist. Musicians may play music but there will be no choirs or hymns sung at the Masses until further directives are received.

Hopefully these measures will be modified as further actions by the Governor and the National Authorities will be returning to normality in the days and weeks ahead.  Thank you all for your patience and cooperation in these matters.

Alternative Tithing Method

In these trying times, with many individuals remaining at home to avoid the coronavirus, we wanted to remind everyone of ways to still give to the church to ensure we can still make payroll and pay our bills:

• Check mailed to St. Mary Catholic Church (421 3rd St., Glasgow, MO, 65254).

• Credit card via our website (https://www.glasgowstmary.com/). Click the “Donate Now” button at the top of the page.

• Utilize online bill pay wherever you bank, utilizing St. Mary Parish as a “biller”. Contact your bank if you have more questions on this.

• If you bank at Tri-County Trust Company, you can contact them about setting up an “automatic transfer” from your bank account to St. Mary’s bank account.

• If you receive your paycheck electronically, you can inquire from your workplace about sending part of your paycheck to St. Mary Catholic Church. Contact Tri-County Trust Company for assistance filling out this form for your employer.

Thank you so much for your generosity in this difficult time.

Launch of the 2020 Capital Campaign

Dear Friends of St. Mary’s Parish,

We are currently entering into the first stages of our Capital Campaign to address the ongoing task of preserving and repairing our parish property. Ever since the founding of the Parish, the goodness and generosity of so many have helped to raise up a beautiful church to worship in, a school to educate many generations of children and to continue to care for these precious treasures for many generations to come.
